Opportunity House, Inc. offers adults with developmentally disabilities the
opportunity to live as independently as possible in
small group settings with staff
on-site and available 24hrs/day.
Our Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILA) are small community-
based homes where 5 to 8 individuals live. Opportunity
House operates 6 CILA
homes in DeKalb / Sycamore area. CILA Homes offer
individuals with
developmental disabilities the chance to learn and
enhance independence in
activities of daily living in a safe, structured
environment.
Opportunity House also operates a 16 bed Community
Living Facility (CLF).
Though the CLF is a larger setting it still provides
individualized service and
support which allow residents to live as independently
as possible, enhance
skills, and integrate into the community to the fullest
extent possible.
Opportunity House CILA’s are licensed by the
Department of Human Service.
The CLF is licensed by the Department of Public
Health. Whether living in the
CLF or a CILA Home, residents are provided the services
they need to promote
growth, integration into the community, and
independence.
Respite services may also be available. Caring for
a disabled family member is
stressful and families sometimes need a break. When we can, Opportunity
House maintains a vacant bed in one of our CILA homes
which can be used by
your developmentally disabled adult family member for a
brief stay at no cost to
you.
