Home means something different for everyone. Individual capabilities may vary, but the need to live in a safe and caring environment is something shared by everyone. That’s why Opportunity House offers 24-hour residential care designed to support independence and well-being.
Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILA)
Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILA) provides 24-hour supervision and support while addressing the unique needs, preferences, and abilities of the individual. Opportunity House operates eleven CILA homes in the DeKalb/Sycamore/Genoa area where up to eight individuals live in an environment that encourages growth and independence. Our CILA homes are licensed by the Department of Human Services.
Community Living Facility (CLF)
Opportunity House also operates a 16-bed Community Living Facility (CLF) licensed by the Department of Public Health. Though a larger setting, the CLF offers the same individualized services of a CILA, enabling individuals to integrate into the community to the fullest extent possible through access to community resources, employment, and social activities.

Residential Services
Whether living in one of our CILA homes or the Community Living Facility, the individual’s needs are met through an individualized plan of services and goals, personalized rooms, and activities. Some of the services provided include:
- medical appointments and medication management
- budgeting and money management

- community orientation and safety
- transportation
- counseling and crisis management
We offer comprehensive services and support in community settings that promote growth and independence in activities of daily living.
