Get ready for a delicious BBQ dinner from Catering by Diann, rocking live music from Back Country Roads, and learn some slick line dancing moves by the DeKalb County Line Dancers. Enjoy a cash bar, auctions, raffles, photo ops, and loads of fun! Dust off your cowboy boots and hats and come ready to party!
This popular event supports Special Olympics sports offered through Opportunity House, Inc. – a program that provides competitive team sports to over 70 athletes of all ages with intellectual disabilities. Team uniforms, equipment, travel expenses, and other vital areas are all assisted by funds raised at Band Together. Sports offered include basketball, soccer, bocce, golf, softball, bowling, and volleyball. Teamwork, improved physical health, social skills and self-esteem are just a few of the positive results of participation in Special Olympics through Opportunity House Athletics.
The funds raised from this event will also support our Recreation Department, which offers the individuals we serve the chance to participate in 15-17 activities every month! Four of these being out in the community. Examples include Yoga, arts & crafts, bowling, movie nights, movin' and groovin' dance parties, art classes, trips to museums and nature preserves, and MUCH MORE!
