COVID-19 OPPORTUNITY HOUSE HAS TAKEN THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS

Following Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) directives, Opportunity House has taken the following actions to protect the people we serve, our staff and our programming partners.

Effective March 17th through April 30th:

• The day program facility at 357 N. California St., Sycamore, is closed and all programming is suspended.
• Residents of our homes will be kept at home.  Access to the community will be limited to essential trips only.
• No visitors, including family, will be allowed in the homes or the day program facility.
• All Recreation and Special Olympics activities are cancelled.

A number of those who live in our homes or come to our day programs are over 60 and/or have underlying health conditions making them especially vulnerable to this outbreak.  We have taken these actions to protect their health and well-being, and prevent the potential spread of COVID-19.

As the situation evolves we may take further actions. We will continue to monitor and seek guidance from local public health officials and IDHS, and keep families informed.

UPDATE:  The state-wide stay at home order was extended through May 30th.   Opportunity House day program facility will remain closed to programming and visitors.
